Goosewing Ranch offers an opportunity to experience a corner of North Americas wildest country as it has been for over a hundred years. At an elevation of 7,000 feet, this secluded retreat sits deep in the heart of the Gros Ventre River Valley and is host to elk, moose, bear and eagles and spectacular scenery. The ranch is open 31 May 09 - 27 Sep 09.
The remote location allows for excellent riding through breathtaking countryside. The ranch can cater for all riding abilities, if you just want to walk and enjoy the scenery, they have the perfect trail or if you want to trot and lope, they have perfect trails for this aswell. Each ride is limited to 6 or 7 horses per wrangler, riding lessons are available in the arena, there is a weight limit of 250lbs for all riders. Children 6 and over may ride on the trails.
There are up to two hours of childrens activities per day between mid Jun and the end of August. Activities include arts and crafts, nature hikes, pony rides and lawn games and even a kids rodeo.
Guests are invited to relax by the heated swimming pool, hot tub or partake in a wide range of activities including fly fishing, mountain biking, hiking, target practice, archery or sightseeing and shopping in Jackson Hole. There is a rodeo in Jackson Hole every Wednesday and Saturday night. The ranch can also organise trips to Yellowstone National Park (2hrs away)
The main lodge serves a central gathering place for relaxing, with a large fireplace, a loft bar with pool table and a TV room. Themed evenings and cookouts also take place throughout the year.
Goosewing offers 8 authentic private cabins with full bath, fireplace, porch and large windows. There ia also a large, family style log home for larger groups with 5 bedrooms, 2 baths and 2 living rooms.
