Live out the cowgirl dream at the woman only ranch, High Wild and Lonesome, and experience more than the typical “ranch vacation.” Here, the ranching adventure takes place in the open country, in wide-open spaces, that is unfenced for miles and miles, and is based in a comfortable, yet remote, tent camp, which is nowhere near "civilization." Although, there are plenty of amenities, such as a hot shower everyday, and a touch of western class with pre-dinner cocktails and hors’ d’oeuvres. These are "riding vacations", with a strong emphasis on horses, the wilderness and the unique companionship which you can only find with a group of women who share the same desires.
What women really want is to ride, all day long on well-mannered, active horses and to ride stirrup to stirrup with other cowgirls across the country. Our women guests want to focus on the horses and riding, away from routines of every day life, and to enjoy good food and fine drink, while engaging in lots of fun and laughter with other women, and to
breathe the fresh desert air.
A week at High Wild and Lonesome is very horse-oriented, with plenty of “saddle time” across Wyoming’s magnificent prairies with no set daily schedule. Most of the guests are very active, physically fit individuals, which is why the more active, challenging and faster-paced riding is offered at this ranch specifically for these woman riders, which is unavailable in most other ranch settings. The guests love the outdoor lifestyle, the camping experience, and the opportunity to get to know everyone in the small groups, as well as the horses. Prices are per person based on two people sharing tented accommodation for 6 nights
