Ranch Season - May-Oct
Montana's nickname is 'Big Sky Country'. Once visited you will know why; from the plains of eastern Montana to the western mountains; Montana's sky sets a stage of dramatic proportions. Jagged peaks, soothing plains and open space form a landscape that is unforgettable. It is the perfect state for outdoor life.
The adventurous will discover dude ranches, horseback rides, cowboys and Indians, rodeos, golf, rock climbing, river rafting and canoeing. Whichever activity you choose you won't be alone as Montana is home to 100 mammal species and 250 bird species, including the elusive Golden Eagle.
History is all around; you can follow the Lewis and Clark Trail, see the site of Custer's Last Stand at Little Bighorn, and explore the ghost towns and old mining camps. Alternatively take a leisurely drive through the stunning Glacier National Park with one million acres of natural wonder and beauty, or tour Yellowstone National Park to see geysers and mineral hot springs. Montana is truly unforgettable.
